Energy
In order for the gray wolf to grow strong and gain energy it must eat. Some organisms that the gray wolf eats are small animals like the rabbit, fox, field mice, beaver and they also eat larger animals like elk, deer, and bison. They even eat road kill as they are scavengers. Since they eat meet they are carnivores.
Gray Wolf Food Web
An invasive species is one that grows quickly and can do harm to the environment. Mountain Lions are also carnivores and compete with organisms in its food web. If the mountain lions were to eat all of the field mice, rabbits and squirrels it would affect things like trees, shrubs, grasses that they eat. It might cause them to be over grown.
